From Local Paint Store to National Brand: Our Automotive Paint Store Story
"I started in paint on the manufacturing side in 1993, right after high school. At 18, I created my first paint product and sold it at a trade show in Chicago from the end of a borrowed table. By 1999, I began selling automotive paint retail to local body shops and hobbyists, focusing on PPG paints. Not long after, I developed a custom line of high-quality, affordable paints exclusively sold retail in Saint Louis, MO.
My knack for creating one-of-a-kind finishes earned me the nickname "Mad Scientist."
In 2018, I noticed more body shop customers using online-bought paints that lacked instructions, quality, or completeness. That's when I founded Auto Paint HQ. My goal was simple: bring my local innovations to customers nationwide. I still love crafting unique colors and expanding our product line to help enthusiasts and professionals achieve stunning results. My goal was and still is to bring the best possible custom colors and auto paint products at the best price I can to you. Today, we offer a wide range of premium paints, including factory colors, single-stage options, and professional-grade primers and clear coats."
